My name is Marinus Wieten, I live in IJsselmuiden, the Netherlands.

I studied four years at the Dutch Academy of Photography and I graduated in 1982. At that time I already had been a certificated photo-reporter for several years.
In 1988 I set up my own studio. I specialised in advertising and product photography and in photographical reproductions. I also worked on location. This work was commissioned by trade and industry. The subjects were architecture and landscape, among others subjects.
In 1998 I closed down my studio further specialise and develop my passion: Photographing nature and landscape.

My images are featured on various websites, picture of the month on Art Limited, nominated by Nature's Best Photography, picture of the week on Nature's best Photography,  selected on Syngenta for most inspirational photos, featered on Fotoblur, etc.
I supply my images to individuals and businesses around the globe, and my images are used for various photo stock agencies and are published in several magazines’

Equipment:

All pictures are taken with a Hasselblad H3DII camera and the following Hasselblad photographic objectives: HCD 4/28 mm lens, HCD 2.8/80 mm lens and the HC macro 4/120 mm lens, and the Nikon D3X with several photographic objectives.The images are stored in a RAW file and subsequently processed in the Hasselblad RAW image processing programme Phocus or CaptureOne from FaseOne.
These high resolution Hasselblad images are then stored as TIFF 300 px/inch, 63,5 MB files. The Canon Files are 70 MB 300 px/inch in size.

Gallery

In the gallery you will find a large collection of photos which are divided into two categories, black and white and full colour.

The black and white images are in duo-tone with extra grain to emphasise the atmosphere.

The atmosphere in the black and white images is mainly determined by the display of huge clouds, infinite spaces and the tiny human being compared to this space.
Clouds have always intrigued me, the infinite and unique forms which alternate rapidly, give me the inspiration to capture these images and place the human being in them.
In the black and white section you will also find landscape photography, architecture and nature. Also here, the atmosphere is determined by the presence of clouds.

Under the section ‘color’ you will also find landscapes, close/ups, flowers, and sea views.
